Raised in Saskatoon, Dr. Sharma is the co-founder of The Ave Medical Complex, Framed Aesthetics MD, Avenue ENT Clinic, and is the current CEO of S.H.I.E.L.D. Innovations looking at innovative solutions to develop integrative healthcare pathways and spaces for healthcare professionals and learners. Having trained at the University of British Columbia, he has interests in diseases of the salivary gland, image guided sinus surgery, and the voice. Dr. Sharma is the past Divisional Head of ENT- Head & Neck Surgery in the Department of Surgery and an associate Professor at the University of Saskatchewan.
Dr. Sharma graduated from the University of Saskatchewan College of Medicine in 2007. He then completed five years of Residency training in Otolaryngology at the University of British Columbia and also completed his Post-Graduate Clinical Fellowship in Head & Neck Endocrine/Salivary Surgery & Salivary Endoscopy. Through the Department of Otolaryngology at University of British Columbia he has been the recipient of the Glen P. Kong Research Award, Lavall Lesson Academic Award, Burrowing Owl Surgery Award, the UBC Followship Teaching Award, and The Golden Scalpel Awards for Pre-Clerkship Education. He has also recently been the recipient of “50 under 50” Young and Aspiring Indo-Canadians Award. His hobbies include spending time with his wife, Poonam, and his children Aaryon and Avani, along with art and poetry.
